The Natura #1 - #3: A New Team Against the End of the World

The Natura issues 1 - 3 is an ambitious endeavor from the creative team at 50Fifty Comix and showcases an exciting super powered team.

This series follows a group of heroes whose abilities align with different elements as they face a formidable force known as the Ill. These first few issues document various points of time in the formation of their team and origins of their enemies.

Issue 1, created by Lynnesha Hamilton, Lee Johnson, Art Edel, and Jessie Geist, introduces the team in the precipice of a battle against an evil known as the Ill that has overrun cities. These nightmarish creatures are forces to be reckoned with and elemental heroes Lykos, Hurricane Ida, Silas, and Mars must work together to survive.

Issue 2 created by Leonce Hall and Lee Johnson and issue 3 created by Brandon Bell, Lynnesha Hamilton, Lee Johnson serve as origin stories from different points of time. Issue 2 leans heavily on the lore and creation of the powers while issue 2 gives spotlight to Lykos, also known as Moses Black—tech billionaire.

The narrative structure of these first few issues is clever in how it introduces the nightmarish “Ill” at the beginning. As readers explore more into subsequent issues, these horrific creatures loom in the reader’s mind. Collectively, issues 1 - 3 have a lot to offer to different audiences as they read well individually and in tandem with each other.

The entire creative team have put together a special series and while the first few issues don’t have a lot of action, there is lots of character and plot development that keeps the reader engaged.

The Natura isn’t limited to the richness of its lore, but it also hosts a range of characters from various backgrounds. Despite being only a few issues into this series, it’s clear that any reader who picks up a copy is about to dive into a new world, heroes, and deadly foes. The Natura is exciting in its design and this series has unlimited potential.
